Railnews originated in the mid 1960s as British Rail’s newspaper, and became the communication tool for the entire company. It was looked at as a family newspaper by staff of all levels from the trackside to the boardroom, until privatisation in the mid 1990s.
After privatisation, Railnews continued to be the voice for the fragmented rail industry, and now delivers the biggest readership. Loyal readers still look at the publication as the voice and notice board for all their information.
Railnews distributes more than 60,000 copies every month Railnews has the largest paid for circulation within the rail market. Copies are distributed to all areas within the industry, with corporate and personal subscriptions, giving a corporate readership of over 195,000 and personal readers of over 13,000.
