We are glad to hear from our website readers, and welcome comments on current issues and news stories.
However, your comment is likely to be edited or removed entirely if you break our house rules.
We ask that you do not:
1. Insult other correspondents, or pour scorn on their views.
2. Pursue or attempt to initiate a vendetta.
3. Use libellous, abusive or profane language. Asterisks *** don't mend it: just don't do it.
4. Become over-engaged in what other correspondents have said. This is not a bulletin board nor forum but a news website.
5. Write at excessive length, or try to draw diagrams. We do not welcome articles here. Generally, around 250 words is the maximum.
6. Respond to older stories. The approximate window is about 14 days. After that, correspondence is closed and we move on.
7. Include personal details, URLs or emails in the body of your message. These may divert your post to our automatic spam trap and if so we will never see it.
8. Quote other publications or internet sites.
9. Attempt to promote a lobby or pressure group, or sell any product or service.
10. Post the same message repeatedly or send a series of linked messages which attempt to overcome (5) above.
If these rules are broken persistently then the contributor's email address may be blocked indefinitely.
